New West Entrance Construction has begun

West Entrance ConstructionNew construction of the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park has begun. The new entrance is being moved less than 1/2 mile south of its current location. When completed in early 2026, it is expected the new entrance with two inbound lanes, one outbound land and a bypass lane in each direction will reduce wait times entering the park.

Meanwhile, visitors can continue to use the current entrance. For continued updates on construction progress, visit: www.nps.gov/jotr
