John Bachar and Steve Karafa Benefit

I’m sure that by now you may have heard that John Bachar and Steve Karafa were in an automobile accident returning from the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City.

If you knew Steve, know John, or want to help out in any way, John’s medical expenses or Steve’s Memorial Fund, there are a couple ways to do so.

Mammoth Mountaineering in Mammoth Lakes is hosting a benefit slide show, presented by Peter Croft on the 15 of September. The same is being done in Salt Lake City the week after with dates and location still being finalized. Go watch one of these and be inspired.

One of the contributors to the slide show is Phil Bard, a photographer from an era where Yosemite was the center of the climbing universe. He has also resurrected a handful of pictures of John from that era to sell, to raise funds to help this cause. You can find the pictures and order prints from this link.
